Hurc and BEC
Hello I have been cleaning out my garage and came across some items from a swap meet a couple of years ago. One item is a HURC 50 amp 5 volt 3.4Amp esc. Attached to it is a CC 10 amp ,6s 25v BEC. This seems to be a little bit of over kill, am I right, should I take this off. It will be put into a trainer with a 3o size motor with 3 full size servos.
Thanks for any input. |
Re: Hurc and BEC
Not overkill, but a choice. It is better to have a bit of overhead in the BEC capacity. You could remove it and run Rx on 5V but I would recommend using the Castle BEC. Just make sure to remove or cut the red wire from the throttle connector.

Re: Hurc and BEC
If the CC bec is already attached to the ESC, you can bet the ESC already has the internal BEC disconnected or worse, it could be the the internal BEC was damaged by the previous owner and the CC bec added(?)
Either way, I agree with Black. Too much bec is harmless. I would just use the set-up the way it is. Still, verify that the internal bec is disconnected. just in case. |
Re: Hurc and BEC
Thankyou
I will leave it as it is. |
Re: Hurc and BEC
Good choice. Just confirm that the ESC has internal BEC disabled.
