I have been planning on working on some planes all winter but kept getting side tracked (family stuff) - I was about to get back at it to bring my T34 Mentor to life; this has been delayed, by the arrival of three grandchildren looking for an escape from the GTA.
Before the delay arrived - I was able to check my DLE 20 and discovered that the Ignition was firing at 52 degrees before TDC!
The spec for this engine is ignition at 28 degrees BTDC!
Obviously I have found a problem and I have a task ahead of me. (whenever I can find the time). Details to follow.
FYI - the engine worked just fine out of the box and for the next three years. One day I had a bad case of 'Dumb Thumbs' and cracked up the plane. It would seem that the crash changed my Ignition setting.
With regards to the Virus Concerns - I'm retired.
And I don't even want to think about what the stock market has done to my savings.
