Got the plans - thank you gentlemen! Now, am I brave enough to commit and actually buy the balsa.... I have a nice running FP 20 that would be a good fit for that project. It barely weighs more than a ball bearing 10 would. I could just use thicker wood on the tail and .... oh oh, I think I've talked myself into doing this!

Re: Old kits.. who said they're hard to get??

After probably 2 years of searching, I just bought a mint condition Ace RC Super Pacer this morning from a US seller.

Its unbelievable what’s still out there, available and for pretty decent prices if you are willing to scour the internet and act quickly when something you want pops up.

Another hard to get plane, that I have every intention to build and fly some day. If I live that long...

Re: Old kits.. who said they're hard to get??

Exactly right, there are goodies popping up all the time. I can't imagine how many treasure troves of hobby collectibles there truly are between all of our dusty shelves combined. A few weekends ago, similar example, a buddy said "oh here, look what I found at a yard sale for $15" and handed me a ~1944 Rogers .29 ignition engine in half decent condition. Since January I've collected about 25 vintage kits for relatively peanuts, including a clean and complete 1939 Megow Cub, a variety of Berkeley kits and finally, after all these years, three of the Scientific 1/2A c/l kits that always were always in the ads - Stuntmaster, L'il Otto, and a profile trainer the name escapes me this moment.

Anyhow there are always treasures and good deals out there waiting to be found.

AJC not sure if I mentioned this, the box with the OS 120 head got so faded sitting in my truck and not getting mailed, that I had to tape a new piece on the front with the address etc. So next time I actually go somewhere, it might finally get moving. We'll see though.. can't rush these things.

Nice find BTW. Looks ideal for a sporty .25 engine.

I’m always perusing the for sale ads for the “last” one that I wanted, lol. I dont think there will ever be the “last” one. Fortunately this is a pretty harmless pastime, my wife is understanding and I dont do a whole lot of anything else besides be a dad and work.

I forgot about the head - no rush. Ive got enough to keep me busy, lol.

That's my problem, there are too many "just one more" kits that I have to have.

My problem was back in my high school days, and into my university.college years, I had always subscribed to most of the model magazines. I’d see ads and read reviews on all these kits in Model Builder, Flying Modles, RCM, MAN and more... and dream about them. Or, I’d sell something to buy something else, and later wish I had kept the plane.

Ive gotten most of the ones I really wanted to get. Luckily for me, lots of them were the smaller size models (as they are less expensive). But some of them are not common.

I’d still like to get my hands on a few of the old Pilot QB kits I had (QB15H and QB25L) and a few more of the old ACE R/C kits.
