This is bigger than a nano. Similar wingspan to a sprint , but with a narrower fuse. I believe it’s the predecessor to the sprint. Looks good o sit pretty tall on robarts retracts, so I think it’s viable. Plane has some serious damage to the center section though, and lord knows I’ve got enough projects as it is. Looks like a fun one though, and a little different.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

That would be the Intro Boomerang version as mentioned Smaller fuse by a fair bit , narrower and not quite as high with tiny intakes. A friend of mine has one and it is way faster on 12-14 lbs thrust than mine at 18 lbs thrust.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

Looks great Brian.

How do you work with Cali. Do you need to call em or send them an email with all your specs. Just seems like an email would not cover all the details that you might be trying to convey.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

I generally give the size and dimensions and colour of what I want and enclose/attach photos or website links.. If its a Warbird or Civilian she may have what you need already . Her website is growing leaps and bounds. Instrument panels as well.

She works strictly off email and her website and accepts Paypal.

I've been buying from her for 5 years now and can't fault her work , pricing or delivery time.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

Its finished. Installed the RCGF 32 CC side exhaust in short order. I like it as I think it's a better install in terms of little or no work for the side exhaust. The next is to run it but i'm sure the cooling will be much better.

Running and maiden flight info to follow.

Re: Boomerang Sprint Conversion to Gas

Did the maiden flight today. Flew just fine. Cylinder temps were cool at about 125 C. Second flight I got 4 vertical rolls out of a full throttle high speed pass before slowly rolling off the top. It flies much like it would with a 80N turbine. Weighed in at 19.0 lbs with fuel and was quite touchy with 30% expo. Increased the expo to 50% for the second flight and it was much better, checked the Cortex gyro and did the C of G inverted pass . All good. Its balanced at 9.5 inches forward of the trailing edge.

Thanks Trevor B for the Video and commentary.

Super happy with my new toy..
