Just a heads up that an eBay store called duncanrc has everything (I think) at 30% off. They have a lot of older stuff as well.

Re: Big sale on eBay

I just checked out their site. Prices are ok but the shipping costs are way out of line!

Re: Big sale on eBay

You obviously have not shipped anything through Canada Post in a very long time. To ship a Dubro pack of hinges in a letter envelope costs a stamp $1.10 but there is no guarantee or tracking. To have tracking that same envelope costs $22 to Toronto.

That is straight from Canada Post. So I think the vendor's shipping is, in fact, inline. And the vender tells you in the description that if you do not want tracking then specify that and it will be less expensive to ship.

Re: Big sale on eBay

Is that $22 when you are registered as a business user and produce the label online???
Because I get $14.56
And by the way, to be a business with the post office all you have to do is register as a business. No other or any 'legal' requirement.
Of course that doesn't include materials and your time.

Re: Big sale on eBay

As a business you would get a couple bucks off. But that is it. You can send small things by registered mail but from my understanding there still is no tracking. The receiver just has to sign for it and a delivery notice is sent back to vendor. That costs a min of $14.

The bottom line is : It is more expensive to ship things than most people think.

Also keep in mind that many online small business charge a handling fee. tape, boxes, paper, ink, etc. They make very small margins so they cannot afford to do these things for free or they will be out of business.

Re: Big sale on eBay

Also, it costs the same to ship a pack of screws it does to ship a $10,000 diamond ring. Value has no bearing (EXCEPT IF YOU ADD INSURANCE)
