Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

I had a J 10 3D and found that if you leave vectoring on you can pull nose up and high alpha it in as these types have no flaps

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Making progress here is the rudder servo mount. The KST servo was a perfect fit.

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

I hit my first snag. The rudder cover is held on by four wood screws that appear to be too soft to do this job. One of them snapped off the head. Any idea how to remove it?

Thanks

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Remove the servo cover to expose the screw thread. Then I have taken a 3/4" diameter Dremel cutoff disk and ground it down to a little larger than the mandrel it fits on so it fits the corner of your servo enclosure. Carefully cut a slot in the screw and use a small thin screw driver to remove the broken threads. Lots of tape around the thread to prevent damage to your enclosure.

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Hey Peter,

Remove the screw cover and with needle nose vise grips clamped on to the remaining threads, unscrew the broken screw. I do this all the time when apprentices do this.
