Is that tape on the leading edge or a layer or two of foam? Is there an RCGROUPS thread?

Re: Indoor Combat

@Greg and other... you're all welcome to London any time.... Check out site (LIRC) for details:

http://lirc.ca/location-and-dates/

We do foamy combat - usually with 3D EPP type planes, but if you want to toss something up we won't stop you .

Cheers,
J

It is a second layer of dollar store foam, painted or coloured thin packing tape for helping to identify. The plane does not need any spar, the extra leading edge foam is all it needs for strength. No RC group thread that I know of.
Go to " flying wing CG calculator" at fwcg.3dzonedk & enter 18 for wing span, 11 for root chord, 2 for tip cord & 11 for sweep.
Add a tapered leading edge doubler, two tails, add guts from a single cell champ & place battery , motor anywhere to balance the plane in the c/g indicated on the site.. Reverse the prop, if making it a pusher
we have also used the same basic plane & made it 2 cell, heavier, not as maneuverable, but fast !!
If coming to Paris I will give you retired plane to copy.

Do you still combat with the single cell deltas? What wing spans?

Cheers, Greg
The Paris indoor starts Wednesday October 3. 01:30 to 03:30 & will be at the same times every Monday & Wednesday. The cost is $5.00 for seniors, [55plus,] $6.00 for others.

What do you use for streamers? How do you attach them?

We gave up on streamers long ago. 🙂

But when we did use them we just taped the streamers to the bottom just ahead of the rudder.

Re: Indoor Combat

We use crepe paper streamers more for effect & to help find the remains in the corn or bean field when flying 3 cell combat outdoors.
The main intention is to destroy the other guys plane lol

Re: Indoor Combat

Yeah... same at Cobble (outdoor). LIRC indoor combat - we usually just run the school's dust mop around the room to find the planes' bits .
