Abbotsford airshow teamed up with these guys that make CF101 inspired shoes. I dig them. Thought I'd share with you guys too

Very nice!

We lived in Comox from 1982 to 83 when we came back from Germany and 409 Sqn was flying Voodoos there at the time. It was the end of an era - 409 moved to Cold Lake in 1984 and converted to F-18s.

Hey John: My wife and I also lived in Comox (tower/terminal controller)...1980-1985. Went to Goose for a couple of years, then Lahr. Came back to Canada in '91, posted to Cold Lake. The CF-101 has always been one of my favourite CF aircraft. Loved the sound of the two "burners" kicking in for take off

Re: Hey CF101 voodoo fans!

I was there in the late 60ís...still remember the chest crushing noise of those Voodoos!

Love the shoes, great idea, but they don't come large enough for my feet.......

Very cool. I was just 11 when we moved from Lahr to Comox. I remember frequent sonic booms in Lahr and once on the soccer field a CF-104 flew directly over head at several hundred feet. It was deafening.

My Dad was Army and was a MWO vehicle tech at the time. After a year in Comox we were off to Calgary for two years. After that, Dad was promoted to CWO with a posting to Ottawa, which he referred to as "a resting place for retired Chiefs". Dad's last position was RCEME Branch CWO.

Lol. We lived at 76(?) Elm Street, in "Q's" and I vividly remember the house windows would give a shudder whenever a 101 lit the burners on take off from runway 12.

Re: Hey CF101 voodoo fans!

Also a "base brat" in Comox 82-85 and our Air Cadet parades were right beside the alert hanger. The daily scrambles were heard up and down the valley. At the time my dad was flying the T33 and Tracker with VU33 so spent a lot of time on base. Pretty darned cool shoes btw...

Anybody remember the big station wagon painted up in search and rescue colors...belonged to someone in 442 squadron flying the Buffalo
