If I didn't already have 4 of them I would jump at your engine!

Are you putting yours in the nose or tail Merv ?
I was considering the nose but that's not cast in stone if you can make a good case for tail installation.

Re: Best Engine for a CG Anniversary Cub

I have the CG Anniversary cub and have been flying it for a few years with an
OS52FS.
Flies very scale and has some extra power if needed.
Another club member has an OS70FS and it flies jsut the same but with less throttle.

I built one of those cubs in 1984, hung an OS 90 4stroke on it and had a ball!

You will be amazed!
Excellent prop choices for a 46 2 stroke and the Cub. I had a Great Planes ARF Cub with a OS46SF with a Bisson pitts muffler and the APC 12.25x3.75 and it was a great combo.

Re: Best Engine for a CG Anniversary Cub

I have the similarly sized Great Planes 40-size Cub (76.5") and have a Saito FA72 4-stroke. I believe its the best engine for this kit and our 3500' elevation.

Having said that, I have another one that I plan to build as a clipped-wing (61.5": 7.5" clipped off the inboard of each wing) and I'll be sticking an OS 61FSR on the nose. IMAC in a Cub? Worth a try

Re: Best Engine for a CG Anniversary Cub

The current engine is a K&B .61 with the two pipes muffler which exhausts underneath. The K&B is in great conditions but the two muffler pipes are loose and probably soldering, glue them or replace the whole muffler may cost a lot. And if I use any of my existing Thundertiger (.46, .65), Supertiger (.90) or O.S AX ( .46 & 55) , I may need to buy a separate muffler.

I am thinking in going electric as I have an Eflite 46 and a Rimfire 80.

Any tip to either go electric or to use any of the existing engines above?
