I don't know if you've followed my event photos over the years but I estimate I've taken roughly 400,000 photos since the 2008 season where I attended a few events. In all that time only 2 come to mind that fit your question and one I think was as bought (the T 2.

Re: Coloring Propeller Tips

On the Bellanca Scouts the Air Cadets use they stripe the entire prop with white bands so that you see a big spinning disc from the prop tip right to the spinner. It is highly visible.

I did that a few years back on some 100 cc 3 blade XOAR wood props which I painted overall gloss white then painted flat black stripes about 1/2" wide. It is a very visible effect. Sorry no photos.

Re: Coloring Propeller Tips

I have painted a couple of them white, and one yellow. Only about 1/2 to 3/4 inch, it worked well enough. I did notice one day, I had a new master airscrew on a plane, with the tips unpainted. Master prints their name on the prop about half way along the blade, in white. The engine was running, and I could see the nice white ring half way up the "danger zone". I took note to get the tips on that prop painted ASAP, so no-one got fooled into thinking the prop was smaller than it really was.

Re: Coloring Propeller Tips

That is interesting about the MAS propellers. Never paid attention to one while running, but makes sense of painting them for sure due to their name being printed on the front of the propeller. But I will now be watching for it to see.
