I was just chatting with Martin (the designer) and it turn out that this version does not have an extra required hard point for mounting floats. He is considering this for the production kits but you would have to contact him directly about this if you were building the 1/4 scale version specifically for floats.

Re: MR Aerodesign 1/4 scale DHC-2 Beaver

I don’t do cad drawings for laser cutting but wouldn’t think it would be too involved in up-scaling the 48 inch floats to 60 inch +or - . The only thing would be the front half , he would have make new glass skins. Or the builder could skin with balsa and then layer a couple of layers of 2-3 oz glass.

Re: MR Aerodesign 1/4 scale DHC-2 Beaver

The horizontal stabilizer was sheeted today. I only made one small modification with the sheeting. There is an overhang that covers the gap between the stab and the elevators. The plans dhow this as just being 3/32 balsa. To add a little strength I used a small plane to make a 1/64 rabbet. A piece of 1/64 plywood was glued in the trench before attaching the skins. Im having trouble get the pictures to load but Ill try later.

Hey Martin, will you continue to offer the 103" Beaver Kit? It's been on my buy wish list for awhile now and I'm hoping you're not planing on discontinuing it!
