This is obviously a collectors engine as I have not seen one of this design
in over 45 years of r/c modeling ; nor have ever seen a picture in OSMax brochures.
The motor also has a exhaust restrictor valve for low speed and better idling . It also pears to be bolted onto the case so it can be replaced with a bolt on muffler. Again , another unusual item.
This was the pre ball bearinged version as the case is brass bushinged . Date of manufacture, I would guess ; sometime in the early 60's . Comes complete with original box and motor appears complete . Also a small bag of spare parts with piston , rod and a few carb parts but not sure if from same motor. The stamping on the left side is 40RC which is unusual as most are stamped 40P .

Will need postal code for mailing costs.

Thanks for looking.

Len
The OS Max-H series was the engine that preceded the FSR series. Great running engines. I had two of them on a twin for years, only had one engine quit when the muffler came loose. There is a muffler that fits them and they are ball bearing engines.

Re: OS Max 40RC engine

I have two of such motors. Have ran them to the ground and yet they are most reliable engines. Both start with one flip and idle perfect on 5 percent fuel.!
A gem of an engine.

Thanks Peter
Yes the link is the one that is correct right down to the last nut and bolt.
Not sure were you found that link but thanks.
There you go fellas; an excellent write up on a great little motor that is 57 years old and still complete. That's
got to be a collector's motor.
