Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

The smoke tank shown on helidirect is an internal tank. Did your under the fuse smoke tank come with the kit or was it special order? Gotta have smoke on this bad boy. The demo jets didn't look like they had the ones under the fuse either... Thanks!

The underside tank only been ready/out for a couple of months I got one of the first one for my Havok....Helidirect might be wrong about the tank they are showing..

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Today I finished the smoke tank installation. The only modification I'm going to make is to add two extra supports since the tank rocks left to right due to the thin central mounting flange.

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Today I joined the two fuselage halves together. I also reversed the nose wheel steering arm to the opposite side of the front door hinge to eliminate the ball link interference.

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Today I started the radio installation, finalizing wiring, smoke system set up and battery installation.

Making up lots of custom wiring harnesses.

I chose the Powerbox Mercury since it has the gyro and internal mixing set up for thrust vectoring, nice unit once you figure out how to program it

Re: SAB Avio Drake Jet build thread

Well today was an interesting day, I had my friend Fabiano come over last night to help me with the wiring. Now when you have two engineers working together you know there will be some kind of a problem

He followed my instructions and guess what all the wires we custom made are 2 inches short. Turns out the length was ok but the reference point we measured from was off. I blame Czech Pilsener beer

I made up new wires, I also installed the tank and the rear cover. The top trays are next.
