PZ extra 300 float plane mod.

Hi All, thought I’d post my modification to my Parkzone extra 300 on hobbyzone floats. (Pictured beside my PZ Trojan t-28 on hobbyzone float flys awesome.)
Flew okay, but had to be fast, not what I wanted , built the plane up before I knew about them. So after a few flights and not crazy about how it flys, and slow speed stuff or lack of slower speeds ,I said forget it
So , being one not to give up easily on a plane, I’ve decided to mate different wings to the fuse.
Park-zone su-29 wings . Going to be interesting to see how it all turns out.

Re: PZ extra 300 float plane mod.

I did get some work done on the wings today, Figured out the root to fuse angle, made a jig and cut the angle, then butted the wings up to see where I have to remove and shape the foam. Will build a jig to help drill a new wing tube hole.
After cutting off the root ends have to fill a opening at the leading edge . Using gorilla glue .

Re: PZ extra 300 float plane mod.

Yea real curious to see how it turns out, the Sukhoi wings have a bunch of raised air disrupters on the top and bottom a 1” back from the leading edge. Need to make my jig to cut the wing tube slot, plus be trying to finish a few other things I’ve put on the back burner, so have a few things going , hope to get that jig made this week.

Re: PZ extra 300 float plane mod.

I put foamy floats on my Visionnaire and it flew okay but not well until I changed the prop to a higher pitch. It was much better after that. Not sure if you tried that option Joe?

How is the vision air slow flight ?
Thanks
