Ok Totally different. I too have had international HobbyKing orders shipped to the US for free and then picked them up in the USA with $800 limit after 48 hours. Did not have to wait until now to do it. The $200 for 24 hours and $800 for 48 hours have been around a long time and the free no brokerage from China to USA also.
So you are a "necessary"(ok essential! )????? traveler


But direct to Canada a different story. Our couriers love to gouge us.

Years go I saw them go through every teenagers' personal stuff at the border but the Forces bus driver's front exterior doored compartment was magically left locked!

no hassles what so ever at the border itheir are no hassles at the border claim what you have if they wNt money pay it. as far as the lipos go and the 150 free shipping. its still cheaper for some sizes. 22200mah no . bigger yes.

When I started this post my understanding was our import value before any brokerage fee's or taxes went from $20.00 to $150.00 CDN from the States or Mexico. I just picked up a $120.00 Canadian value shipment with no fee's or taxes from the States shipped by USPS. Cheers Floyd

Was the parcel "commercial/retail" or from an individual?
I've noticed that parcels from individuals - correctly labelled as to value - often come thru Canada border services untouched.

This order was from a Company with the full declared value on the box for Customs. Company's from the States are not allowed to Doctor the import values and can face a fine if caught. I've asked several over the years and they wouldn't do it. One did give me a wholesale price instead of a retail one, he said he was allowed to do that. Cheers Floyd

They often slipped through in the past. I very seldom have anything of that value. Usually higher.
