To those who may not be familiar with our annual auction, here are a couple of items that may entice you to join us:

Last year was just a typical year.

There was everything from giant scale planes that you could literally have taken to the field that day and flown, through ARFs, unopened kits, radios, motors, engines, shop tools, the list could go on ...

At day's end, the place was empty of all items. Lots of happy faces and full vehicles.

Over $6000 was "redistributed" amongst the 100+ attendees. The 50/50 draw netted someone over $150.

This thing is just like Christmas Day for many - we never know what to expect under the tree/table. Sometimes, there is an unusual collection from someone who is leaving the hobby, or has already left. We have seen auctions that surpassed $10K, with one (an estate clearance) exceeding $30K. This thing really is a Big Deal.

No one can put a number on the fun value, you just have to come out and see for yourself.

Re: KRCM Annual Auction

Got your car, truck or snowmobile loaded up and ready to head out on Saturday?

Have you dipped into the kids' "college fund" for that bit of extra cash?

Saturday is fast approaching. The weather looks good for our guests from afar.

The set-up crew will be there bright and early, so the place will be ready for you to show up and get settled in.

Our Auction Team is straining at their leashes to get going!

NOTE:
If you are selling a boxed kit, if it has been opened please ensure that it is complete - parts, drawing, manual, etc. If it is just a partial kit, it should be clearly identified as such.

Re: KRCM Annual Auction

On behalf of KRCM, thank you to all who attended our annual Auction. Special thanks to the Auction Team, they performed as expected - superbly!

Over 100 Participants came from as far away as Toronto, Cornwall, Ottawa and Arnprior. Our Zone Director opened the event with a strong encouragement for folks to attend the upcoming MAAC AGM in Cornwall. This is, indeed, an active Zone with many hard-working volunteers across the region!

All of the gear was sold, leaving many happy faces amongst buyers and sellers. Something in the neighbourhood of $5000 passed through the system. One chap in particular was grinning for ear to ear; Mr. (name withheld, to protect him from being pestered for handouts) from Cornwall pocketed $157 from the 50/50 draw. That sort of made his trip worthwhile.

The pace was brisk, the selection was very broad, spanning just about all of the R/C hobby.

If you missed out on this event, keep it in mind for next year at the same time and place. Meanwhile, enjoy what you bought and spend any money you received wisely (more toys!).

Re: KRCM Annual Auction

Gary,
Good to catch up with you my friend. Was a good experience start to finish. Long day getting up at 4am and getting home at 7’. Made some new friends and caught with old ones. Wether you bought or sold it was a good winter break from shop hibernation. Thanks to all involved I will be back next year.

D.

Re: KRCM Annual Auction

Note to self (once again!):
At the next auction, I must ignore Wilf when he is auctioning off what would be the very last thing in the world I could possibly need or want. Like that $7 tool box How could I have let this kind of thing happen yet again? "Old enough to know better; too young to resist.", as we used to say, (referring to something else entirely).

At least the Auction Team got a good chuckle from my poor decision-making skills, so I guess it was all OK. Maybe I will just hang onto the thing for a year, then donate it to the Club and let some other weak soul capture it at the 2021 Auction. Yup, that sounds like a solid plan ...
