Re: Sportsman 2020

Thanks guys. My Red book from IMAC arrived so now I can start using the correct names and terminology for maneuvers which will help greatly when someone calls for me.

Dennis - most popular name in this case would be Q loop (as Rick also said). If my caller said " 7/8 Loop" I would be hard pressed to know what he was referring to. Q loop would be the name that we all commonly use and is pretty universally understood.

Re: Sportsman 2020

So being that in the rule book they show starting the loop from level and exiting on the 45 deg line then pulling to level flight to finish. In sportsman 2020 they start by pulling into the 45 then the loop. Would this be a reverse Q loop ? Thanks for the help, I am around 9 hrs away from my closest fellow IMAC flyer so I practice alone.

Truthfully I think you could call it either way ie Q loop or Reverse Q Loop. Typically anything starting on a 45 ie Reverse Half Cuban, Reverse Teardrop, Reverse Shark we use the Reverse terminology. So you could call this a Reverse Q Loop given the 45 entry. But the main thing is for you and the caller to know what the translation is.

As long as you and your caller have a language that works.
Brendan,

So in your Caller Language I'm guessing a Roller would be called a

"OH SH*T!

And an inverted Roller....

"OH BLOODY H*LL!"

Bill,

If I was calling it I would probably say something like....

Next is a Reverse Q Loop...

Pull a 45 Up line to a 7/8th s Loop, One Full Roll at the bottom, Exit Upright, same direction or Exit Upright to the Right.
