You'll save a lot more money buying a used V1. They are practically the same bird. Easy enough to recover in SnowBird scheme. Add some tip tanks and voila! The V2 has just come on the market and I think you will be waiting a very long time before you see someone not wanting it.

you could build a ziroli turbinator.. the changes to the thrust angle are easy to do..you could put it together for 1200 with a used engine..

Another alternative that flys well as a trainer is the BTE Reaction 54 ; comes as a kit and uses the smaller turbines. Also uses lower cost retracts and other components.

Re: Wanted looking for a great beginner turbine jet

The JetMach entry level jet is what I have. Extremely easy to fly, bordering on boring. Very easy to maintain too. Has fixed landing gear, so that's one problem area eliminated. Basically a five channel conversion trainer. I fly mine with an old Jet Joe 1400, so about 14 lbs of thrust. A 20 lb thrust turbine would make it a lot aerobatic.

The wing tip tanks are not stock, I have the moulds for them (CF-100 Mk4), just had to modify the mounting surface to match the JetMach's airfoil.
