Re: Small ( foamie) float plane

Another option could be the Polaris delta foamie. Flies off any surface, including water.

Look for a Flyzone Beaver - they come with wheels and floats and are a fantastic flying airplane.

I have an Icon A5 that I would let go. Let me know if it is of interest and I will get the specs, it is currently buried in the basement.

Re: Small ( foamie) float plane

I've built two of the original Polari and still have one. Also have the Ultra and find I like the smaller, original flat panel foamie better.

NOTE: Due to some "Issues" with the airframe manufacturer Model Aero lost the Ultra and can now be found basically identical in the "Skipper".

Re: Small ( foamie) float plane

Tried a club members Icon at his cottage last fall.
Think I'd like to try some spot landings with Tundra or Timber style.
The videos you see on YouTube are really something..
Not with floats though.

Re: Small ( foamie) float plane

I have flown floats, amphibs, (still have my 35+ years old Seamaster) and these are just as fun and even more versatile. Here is a cam shot on my original Polaris:

Note there is some extra reinforcement on the tail, so very rigid.
