Ontario Events
Here I sit, watching more rain
We have three events forecast for 2020, Woodstock, Northern Ontario (Sault or Sudbury, not decided yet) Ottawa. At our Annunal Zone Meeting, we discussed a second Northern Ontario event, so there'd be two one in Sudbury and one in the Sault. We did not get much support from our Michigan group the last time we had an event in the Sault, I'm not confident that would change. What support is there for two Northern Ontario events? I recognize coming to the Sault is an expensive road trip for most.

YOU Know my feelings about The Soo! LOL! BUT would welcome another Ontario contest and yes the NC is having a tough time with events even in the US so I wouldn't count on them to base a contest on. I'm DONE with Huckin and focusing back on IMAC so depending on date would welcome a Contest in both Northern towns! And look forward to flying with you in Intermediate next season.

Re: Ontario Events
We need another Ontario contest. Doesn't have to be over the top, keep it simple.
Also with the new regs. In the U.S. The Michigan guys may just want to come across to fly. Maybe reach out to them and see if they would make the trip. |

Re: Ontario Events
As long as I know with enough time for my wife to book holiday time, I’d definitely try and hit both contests.

Re: Ontario Events
Craig - when Brendan mentioned this to me a few weeks back I said that it might be viable if there was enough spacing between contests.
The way things worked out this current year, after Sudbury there was nothing since Ottawa had moved to mid-July. I suggested to Brendan that maybe one contest end of July and one end of August / early September. Not sure if Ottawa is moving back to August or not - Gary seems to have two options on the table. As for the Michigan guys I think you might get Rob Willis and Mike Roxberry. It is about 4.5 hours from Flint to SSM up 75. Add another 1-2 hours for guys from Grand Rapids or Jackson and that makes it 6 hours. Longer driving their monster Winnebago's LOL. I think there will interest but not likely more than 2-3 people. When I talk to the Ohio guys like Toby, he would love to come up to SSM but it must be a 8-9 hour drive for him. June is likely full because Jackson - Mid Michigan is going to move from August and be late June next year. And June is tough anyway because some of us have barely been flying or practicing by then. That's why I suggested late August or even beginning of September to space things out a bit. Also keep in mind that the North Central finals next year are supposed to be back in Saranac and that will be about the third weekend in September (I think). Of course with the FAA misbehaving who knows what contests will be viable in the US next year.

Re: Ontario Events
The 2020 NOIC will be in Sudbury
Keep the last weekend of July free and it will be a perfect two weeks before the always awesome annual Ottawa contest. I started the paperwork today. Now, just we need another club to step up and put on an event in Ontario. Three Ontario contests are just not enough!! Brendan |

Re: Ontario Events
I would try to make it to all Ontario contests. Agree that if Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury both have contests it would be best to have them not close together

Re: Ontario Events
I was out of flying IMAC for a while but with my plane finally in the air, Woodstock, NOIC, Ottawa and possibly Michigan are on the contest wish list for next year already. Maybe even a Quebec contest as they are also great to attend. Gotta love road trips.
We will definitely try to bring the "Northern Ontario IMAC Team" to as many contests as possible. If the Soo does decide to hold an event (they will know for sure sometime next month) that would be another must attend contest. |

Re: Ontario Events
I am looking forward to Steve's contest, in my back yard basically. I could support 2 northern contests but it depends on the dates. August 14-16 is our zone fun fly so if you can avoid that, perfect. And as was mentioned space them out, not the same month.

Re: Ontario Events
Woodstock is on the list of contests for sure next year. No grandkids expected! The weather here in Sudbury is getting ugly real fast and not many outside days left. Good thing we have our indoor gym ready to go
