I think I have a racing plane you might be interested in. Its a fibreglass fuse, the rest you have to make. If you have a wire-cutter, you can make your own wings. The tail is built from 1/4" (guessing) balsa sheet using the plans provided as a template.

I have no idea of the engine size needed, the plans might show it, but I recall looking at the fuse, and to me it looks to be about the same size as my Sportster 20 and that has a .25 engine in it. Let me know if you are interested and I will dig it out.

That is a Quarter Midget, that used a HOT 15 size motor, no muffler and a very small prop. These plane where very fast and you landed dead stick. They where raced in the US in the 70 -80's and then fazed out.
That class was never raced here in Canada.
A 25 electric motor could be fitted in that fuselage.
