Anybody building while stuck at home?

Hi all. Hope you are all safe and still healthy out there.

Thought I would ask if anybody has decided now is a good time to build, from scratch, kits, or arfs, to relieve the boredom, from being stuck at home, or in the event of being stuck at home.

While everybody else was hoarding toilet paper and booze, I gathered up some wood, and glue, and will attempt to build a night flyer out of a sig mid star.

I also have a couple of other projects I can work on and finish.

Post pics of what your up too.

Re: Anybody building while stuck at home?

I have been in Quarantine since last weekend.

I haven't been building as much as I have been repairing.
I usually travel a lot for work between January and April and don't get much time to spend in the shop. So every May it is a mad rush to make those small repairs that I have been putting off.
Its nice to be able to spend some time in the shop.
My wife has banished me there in the name of "Social distancing" since I got home last week. She thinks it must be hard on me to not spend time with her "upstairs".. Shhhh... don't tell her I'm loving it...

Re: Anybody building while stuck at home?

I am not in quarantine, but staying home. It has been 9 weeks since I had knee replacement surgery and and for the first 4 weeks it is not fun. But I managed to build a couple of foamies.

Re: Anybody building while stuck at home?

With warmer weather close by, I was about to clean my shop from all the activity over the course of the winter. But, with the pandemic, and a wife who is disabled and very suceptable to any virus, we have gone into isolation mode. I decided to pull out the TopFlite T34 Mentor and get building. Made some good progress the past few days, and am thankful I have this hobby to fill in the time. Building and repairing planes takes ones mind off the events happening all over the world, even if only briefly.
And no, I did not get the shop cleaned up. It is in fact much worse now with all the balsa wood and dust on the floor, and tools everywhere on the bench.
Stay safe everyone.

Re: Anybody building while stuck at home?

Sitting here trying to figure out what this guy did while building this WACO my son built. Wing is off 1 in on one side. Been measuring and setting squares to it. Wing saddle was an absolute joke. Oh well. Keping me occupied. Keep well everyone.

Re: Anybody building while stuck at home?

Well, I've been taking my time to try and bring this back to life. Not stuck at home yet, and still working. I received this Ultra Stick 10cc from a local gentleman a couple weeks ago. Just trying my best to save it from the trash..... Just starting out with nitro planes this year, and this is my first crash rebuild. However, with teh wing damage, I have been working on it first to see if it is worth taking the time to follow through with the rest. After patching things up, I have to just reinforce the spot of the main wing spars and the plywood piece that is between the spars.
