Hope everyone is keeping safe and doing well. Figured I’d show this while I have time.
I should have documented more during this build but it took so much trial and error that I didn’t bother.
I think I tried the losi conversations years ago and didn’t like it. I also thought this project was a good opportunity to use my Milwaukee M18 battery since there is plenty of space.
Here’s the basic rundown. I’m using a losi center diff instead of the Losi tranny. It’s held in by an aluminum motor mount I found on hobbyking years ago waiting to find a home. I redesigned Both upper and lower plates and cut new ones out of carbon fibre. I had to use one losi XXL drive shaft to account for the extra length I needed because of the diff being so compact. I decided to 3D print a cage that would support the motor mount/diff holder to the body and make the chasis more rigid. I added a power distribution module used for small drones to allow 5v and 12v outputs (why not). I resoldered my receiver pins with 90 degree pins to keep it low and avoid issues inserting the battery. I’m using a 1600kv motor. System is running on 5S.
