Re: 3 W 106/ 110 walbro carb size

Need to know which Walbro is on it. Could be a WJ71 same as on the DA100 or could be different. Some of these engines had Tillotson carbs but many people switched them to Walbro's that were easier to tune.

If WJ71 then the D10-WJ has the diaphragm. But really need the Walbro carb number.

Re: 3 W 106/ 110 walbro carb size

Frank is correct. I've contacted them both via Email and by phone with excellent results.

Having said that, hoping this spare parts for the 110 is correct:

https://3w-modellmotoren.de/wp-conte...Rev-4_2016.pdf

If so it seems this one has a Tillotson HS HT carb and the kit is #20.006.720

ps. 3W are made in Germany.

Re: 3 W 106/ 110 walbro carb size

Might also be a Walbro depending on how it was purchased ie new or used.

I understand the many guys have swapped the Tillotson out and replaced it with a Walbro. Kind of how I found out that the DA100 carb - WJ-71 is a drop in fit. Apparently the Walbro has a finer needle thread that allows easier tuning.

Carb kits for these dedicated airplane engines seem to be easy and cheap to get in the US but more of a PIA to get in Canada.

FYI - a bit late - the Walbro WJ-71 is still available new from Mile High RC, they get them in batches. Just replaced the EMAS carb on a DL-100 with the Walbro, dropped right in place and was a cinch to set up and tune afterwards. Mail order and got here real quick. Never use UPS across the border, go USPS is my personal advice BTW.

MJD, discounting 3Ws 3-flip ignition arming sequence, was it easier to start?

Re: 3 W 106/ 110 walbro carb size

It's a DL-100 though. It became consistent and predictable. Cold - choke on, 3-4 flips, start burp and quit. Choke open - nearly always pops on flip 5, starts at flip 6. Kill ignition at idle, restart is instant.
