Ah! So you are proposing that the MAAC site could be used as a sort of sticky note pad? A day by day thing that anyone going flying or tracking instructors could get up to the hour updates on? As in... I wonder if Merv is going to go flying today and check to see if I left a note on MAAC?

Now that would be cool!!!

Re: Any solutions to MAAC/Hobby Decline?

Yes Terry. With the words "model airplane" adding "Canada" does bring up a link down the page a wee bit. Good stuff!

Re: Any solutions to MAAC/Hobby Decline?

Just for the halibut I typed in "drones Canada". Guess what? No MAAC link and no mention of model airplanes!! WOO HOO!

Now, if an inanimate object like the "net" can differentiate between the two - - - Why can't Transport Canada??!!

Ok, bad joke! Sorry!

No I'm not!

Lying!!

That's exactly what I am talking about Merv , not all instructors can commit to a day every week between 5-7 but if you can use the option for available every week and no need to keep posting . Instructors like myself would like to help when I can but it's just not possible with no system to bring students and instructors together. I would log on and let people know when I'm available . . .I will have to see what if anything MAAC can do ,if I hear back from them I will post the results ..

Perhaps ask MAAC officials if they should consider something like this:

It wouldn't have to be the same size. It could be half the size, or smaller, enough for one RC simulator.

Re: Any solutions to MAAC/Hobby Decline?

Good idea but limited in exposure if there is only one trailer for the whole country. I could see the target audience being just large centers too and many of the clubs there are not so open to new members I hear.

I do believe individual clubs already do this at mall shows and other local events. We have in the past and it is a good thing!

If one simulator trailer is successful, then maybe others would be created.

Every club could use anyone's trailer on a daily basis at the flying field. It could be used for both promotion and hands-on ground school instruction.

With 50 years in the hobby and belonging to 7 different clubs and training hundreds of people over the years, I would agree that many clubs are not so open to new members, not even the one I belong to. Then there are those clubs who don't want to be bothered with having to provide flight training.
