About a year ago I disabled Ikon rescue on one of my birds because of bad behavior, the original orange Kraken 700. Rescue works pretty good on the rest of my models with the Ikon. I gave up on the Kraken and disabled the rescue. Recently I was listening to a podcast and somebody mentioned a manufacture fix for Rescue failure and tail weirdness with the Kraken 700. I never experienced tail of flying weirdness, but when I tested rescue it would sometimes flip 270% and start driving towards the ground, or worse yet me.

FBL support "option 3" fixes the issue. Part Number H1188-S. I tested it a few times today. It worked perfect. It leveled and went straight up. They also have the same type of kit for the Kraken 580. They mention high frequency vibration that probably doesn't show up in the flybarless diagnostics.

Re: IKON 2 rescue questions

I recall quite a few FBL's had some issues with the original Kraken that had the straight cut gears. SAB added different mount options(quite a few really) and changed the gear design in later production which eliminated the high frequency vibrations. It also means the original Kraken's are louder in the air(and potentially slightly more efficient).

Yup, it has straight cut gears. It is pretty loud in the air. Not sure about more efficient. No transmission is more efficient.
