Agassiz - Off! Vernon - On!

We're going to convene in Vernon on the Saturday/Sunday Agassiz dates, as with the border definitely being at risk for opening based on current US Covid action, and therefore no guarantee of tugs, we're changing venues. We'll use Jim Emery's tug (60cc) as we did last weekend, plus I'll take the Pegasus (105cc) as backup. We have three Vernon area pilots, me and Dave T from Vancouver planning on attending, plus hoping to get some interest from Alberta. Helmut was planning on Agassiz so maybe he'll take on Vernon as he has in the past.

If the border opens on July 21, (I've gone from personally optimistic to personally doubtful), any of our US friends would be most welcome as long as social distancing is practiced and there are no bear hugs. Or as our BC Minister of Health says, "No canoodling".

C'mon Alberta! You can make this!

This is great news! Happening at St. Annes flying site not the Vernon R/C Aeromodelers. I see there are new maps etc for air space. I am seeing some changes in limits. That area is class E after 6500 feet now

Here are two links that I find useful: http://www3.telus.net/cschwab/viewer..._airspace.html

The other is the Drone Site selection tool
https://nrc.canada.ca/en/drone-tool

I spent a fair bit of time (trying) to educate myself so I knew where I was flying etc. I see my own club is now listed as Class E above 6500 feet. It use to be 700 feet
