Any objection from the MODS or anyone else to including Silhouette Cameo Cutters in this Forum?

Was hopping to start a Repository of Graphic Files we could share with each other.

Thoughts?

Re: Silhouette Cameo Cutter Graphic Files

I have a cameo 4 and it is a outstanding machine. It will cut 3/32 balsa and has a 15 in bed. I haven’t used it very much and looking forward to cutting Balsa this winter. Anyone want a cameo 3?

Re: Silhouette Cameo Cutter Graphic Files

I've got the original Cameo, and have used it almost exclusively to cut 6" letters to apply to coroplast for our church's outdoor sign. I've been running it on my old XP laptop (from when I retired in 2008 ), but recently downloaded the latest software to my Win10 laptop. I have yet to try it on the Cameo, but was thinking maybe later tonight.
I really have had little luck getting things done referring to their manual, either the one that came with the machine or the one I downloaded, but have had to go online looking at videos to find out what some of the controls in the software do, many of which were not even mention in the documentation.
I KNOW there is so much more I could do with this thing but have not had the time, or a reason to pursue it yet; much like my 3D printer.... Solutions looking for problems to solve!

Re: Silhouette Cameo Cutter Graphic Files

A repository would be great. I also am a cameo fan but use it primarily for vinyl cutting, I will have to give Balsa a go.

Cheers

Mike what's the big difference between the 3 & 4?

I had a 2 and my wife bought me a 3 then a week later the 4 came out.

Barely used the 3 but NEED an excuse to get the 4 but tell me why!

So I guess we could just load files but will RCC accept them?

Re: Silhouette Cameo Cutter Graphic Files

Big difference between 3 and 4 is price and other great features. The cameo 4 has a wider bed 15 ins, Roller feeder, Bluetooth, auto blade and it can cut up to 3/16 balsa or similar material. You must use a special Kraft blade for balsa. It can withstand the downward force that is required to cut thicker materials. The Kraft blades are expensive, $100 for 2. I havenít explored that feature as I have been busy with other projects. For me I hoping it can do a dozen ribs that are the same. Scan the rib and import into the cameo software.

The cameo software is really good for importing just about anything and cutting it on vinyl. For example I imported the centennial logo on the side of the tutor and cut each colour out and on different colors of vinyl. Then it was matter of laying each colour over the other to produce the centennial logo.

Amazon and local sign shop is my source for vinyl, Michaels also has a good selection.

I have a cameo 3 for sale. $ 200 plus shipping.

The cameo vinyl cutter is great bang for your buck.
