Trevor, to officially determine which is better, don't you have to measure the reflectivity? I heard some expert in the WC, suggesting this is the only thing that counts.
But I also heard he is a bit of a knob, more a polisher than a flyer!

What do you think?

LMAO!!! Good one John!! The MVVS has been well used and no signs of shine-loss. The other is shiny also but parts turn pink quickly, LOL!!

Targeting a 1:30pm lift off Dale. 10deg, 20kph winds with gusts to 45kph. Not ideal, LOL

Should still be fun!!

Late start Trevor? Looking forward to your impression of the 176. My BIBD (broke in by Dale) runs fantastic.

Big claims towards someone that it seems you really don't know or have any clue as to what they do in their daily life....or that's the way I read your comment, being you said you "heard" he was a bit of a knob.

Being it's "your comment".....perhaps have an extremely good look in the mirror...you might see what the rest of us do!

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Wooohooo!! The remaiden was a success Actually got 3 flights! Video uploading of the remaiden. I'll post my thoughts in the Carden build thread and the 176evo thread.

As I was setting up, the forecasted gusts started up. 20kph winds with gust likely well above 50kph. Was blowing really hard. Surprising just how well these big birds fly in the wind. Everyone else was grounded so I had the whole field to myself, LOL.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I never had any complaints with the 176 I had before. It was spinning a Falcon CF 30x13W at 6k even and a Mej 30x13 EvoL at 6250 on canisters and around 6050 on the stock mufflers.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

Ya Doug. Significantly more on the Evo on pipes then!!

Absolutely no knock against any motor in this class but I'd place this 176evo as a solid #2 behind the ZDZ180 for power. The 180 and this 176 (and likely the MVVS175 based on stand testing) is like a whole level of performance above the DA170 and 3W170.

I'll soon be testing a DLE170 which I've heard is a good competitor to the DA and 3W.

I would love to fly a piped MVVS175!!! Based on how crazy strong the 190 is, I think the 175has serious potential. While there's no way it'll take the podium from the ZDZ, it may challenge the GP.

Re: The never ending engine thread, East-West

I posted this on the Carden build thread, but here's today's remaiden with the 176evo. Again, low end was seriously rich. Flight #2 and #3 ran even nicer with needles tweaked. We'll get better video on a calm day... tough to even hear the motor in this video due to the crazy wind.
