Re: Helicopter on Ailexpress
450 heli in a scale body for $800 usd? Plus 100 to ship it? No thanks. I'll let someone else be the guinea pig and try out this mystery 450 helicopter. I would much rather get my own 450 at build a scale body and do it my way.
Still, he has some neat features. It looks like they've taken some drone technology and installed it in a helicopter. On the other hand I don't know if I would even trust it in the heli. My experience has not been good, but maybe technology has improved from the times I tried it in my helis.

Re: Helicopter on Ailexpress
I can't comment on this heli nor on Aliexpress. But I have had some decent results with Banggood; and I have seen a body kit (as little body as there is) for a Hughes 300 that was around $100 for a 450 size heli.
While this heli looks to be expensive, in reality it isn't that bad. It all depends on what you already have. I have just started a build for a 450 size scale JetRanger 206 and at this point it will be at least $ 1,400 by the time I'm done. The fuselage is from scaleflying https://scaleflying.de/ (about $ 400 by the time it is here) and I bought an OXY 4 kit for mechanics. By the time I add a motor, servos, ESC, IKON2 and blades, it will be a $ 1,000 helicopter. You can find some very reasonably priced 450s but it will require some work to make them fit. I've bought a Trex 450L, which definitely does not fit into my fuselage. https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/sho...d.php?t=602781 Hope this helps a bit. Martin |

Re: Helicopter on Ailexpress
I couldn't find that Schweizer/Hughes 300 kit anymore, however, here it is in Germany. https://www.ebay.de/itm/Rumpfbausatz.../174435907175?
Now that I look at it, I may just get it for my Trex. ![]() ![]() What did I just say about rabbit holes? This was the last one, so I just had to buy it. Last edited by mgkluft; 02-23-2021 at 01:04 PM. Reason: update information |

Re: Helicopter on Ailexpress
I can tell you some second hand information from one of the top scale pilots and builders in the world. The helicopter, itself, is ok. If you put a good gyro and radio system in it, it flies very nicely. The radio system and gyro are some of the worst electronics supplied in a helicopter that is RTF. The manual is terrible, the gyro is spotty at best, and the radio has nothing intuitive about it. Don't waste your money on it. Hope this helps.
