Have everything buttoned up and set up. Balanced and ready to fly. Well, after I run a few tanks through the new G62 and get it set up well enough to try flying. I am determined to get this airborne before the end of August.

One thing to note, I had built this plane trying several engines (from a Brison 3.2 at the smallest to a Brison 6.4 twin). I have two wing tube sockets so with the heavier engine the wing is moved 1.5 forward and you dont have to add dead weight.

With the G62EI which is reasonably light, I am using the rearward wing tube socket, and I got it to balance without adding weight, just moving the battery packs around.

Andrew
Perhaps you should take another "Hero Shot" picture of you and the airplane matching the one your took many years ago before you fly it and post it for us to see.

Re: AC-2 Resurection...

Had a chance to run out to the field this afternoon, and take the AC-2 up for a flight. My intention was to have several flights, but on the first landing, the left wheel went into a rut and bent the gear leg back a bit. Ill fix it up and get out again soon I hope, but wasnt able to repair at the field.

The plane flies well with the Zenoah G62. Just like a nicely powered ugly stick. Its very maneuverable and flies better than I remembered (it has been about 16 or 17 years).

I was alone so all you are getting is a selfie. Hope to get someone out with me next time for a bit of video.

Felt good to get her back in the air after so long.

Re: AC-2 Resurection...

I bet an Irvine would look good up front, on ignition. Maybe not enough power? Not sure what a G62 swings.
