Covering with fabric

I think the first and only time I have ever covered with fabric was my Kadet Jr. somewhere around 35-40 years ago and it was an OK job at best. Well, finally getting around to doing some covering on my 1/4 scale Sig Clipped Wing Cub with some Ceconite Lite using Sig Stix-it and I'm amazed at how well a non stretching fabric can go around compound curves. No pulling and tugging like with iron on films, just do the flat perimeter, turn the heat up ever so slightly, then finesse it around the edges and curves. I've only got the one side covered, but it wrapped all the way around with no wrinkles. I'm really looking forward to doing the rest of the plane!

Re: Covering with fabric

I did a 1/4 scale clipped wing cub and a 1/3 scale super cub in Sig coverall with Sig
Stix-It. It is the nicest material to work with I have found and very economical to cover a large plane with. Doing down one side of the turtle deck and up the side of the vertical fin with one piece was effortless with the Sig Coveral. Looking great HAL9KPCM

Re: Covering with fabric

Thanks everyone! I don't know whether I should take the credit for the work or should the products LOL. Both the Ceconite Lite and the Stix-it are fantastic to work with.
