AR620-frame losses.

Hi, got myself the new AR620. Flying it with a DX6 in a 'Something Extra' plane, which I never have a problem with, I get 138 frame losses during a 9 minute flight!!
This receiver can not be used with a satellite and reports only frame losses and holds. There were zero holds.
Everything I read says a frame loss warning should be set at 20.
The AR620 is my first and only telemetry receiver so that I have nothing to compare it to nor do I have any experience dealing with the generated info.

Is this receiver with an internal antennae not up to it's billing?
Is it safe to fly when I have that many frame losses?

Any enlightening will be greatly appreciated.

Re: AR620-frame losses.

Good info from another forum:
You lost 138 out of 48,600 frames, that's 0.28% frame loss.

Nothing is wrong.

The information with regards to setting a loss warning to 20 is in regards to the multi-antenna receivers which report single antenna losses as fades and only record a frame loss when no antenna at all receives a given frame. With the single antenna RX like the AR620 you need to look at what the rate of loss is. DSMX sends just under 90 frames every second.

Now holds are always a concern, as they indicate that ~45 or more consecutive frames were lost which is a real issue (they also can trigger a failsafe).

These Rx are really good
They are intended for line of sight flying, and for most powered models , that is a 1/4 mile or less.
They will easily exceed this if not blanked by model components or materials which blank 2.4
Trying to keep track of fades n losses etc., is really not necessary
If you see no holds, you are ok
As noted , the losses are related to length of flight
The recommended range check should not produce holds!
A failure due to battery issues or overheated bec is far more more possible
I have never been able to fly these or other Spektrum Rx out of unaided visual range.
