That one is pretty pricey but there are tons of sla’s on Amazon all shapes and sizes. I was thinking since the hull is 43” it might need the weight.

Opened it up a bit and this is what I found. I am OK spending a bit to get it up and running. Seems like it would be worthwhile.

Re: Need help finding a battery

Lipos work fine as long as there isn’t a restriction to the little higher voltage and speed control/receiver but you will need a smart charger with balance plug to charge properly. Used you are looking about $50-75 bucks.

Looks like the receiver and speed control are one unit . Just wondering what the little black thing is with the dc -vac numbers are. Hope that isn’t an on -off relay switch relay to the motors with no speed adjustment ?

Travelsteve : if you are new to electric rc control I would do some reading on lithium based battery source
(Lipo , li-ion, and life)To understand the do’s and don’ts of charging and discharging with the safety aspect. Most consumer goods like laptops , cameras and iPads and many other electronics have safety circuits built into the battery packs themselves but not with the battery packs for electric motor power that we use. Most newer electronic speed controls in use today have some protection for discharge designed into them.

Did you get the transmitter with the boat?

Thanks Stegl - I will read up as suggested. As for the transmitter - yes - photo attached. Has a 40Mhz sticker on the side.

Re: Need help finding a battery

I can check but now believe that this was imported from another country as isso often the case. I believe that 40 MHz is illegal fir use in Canada but will get back to you on that. The concern is that if something or someone is using 40 MHz to transmit on and the boat gies to full power and hits or hurts someone or something and causes damage you could be on the hook. 49 MHz is designated as one of the frequencies fir amateur radio use in Canada. You can research that more if you wish.

Here is a non official list of frequencies and rc uses in Canada.
