i have one of the british made engine test stand. have a 22inch truck rim with 3 inch square tubing weled to a plate which is welded to the rim. a 5 inch mechanic vice mounted to the post. a 2x4 is screwed to a piece of plywood with the test stand mounted to the plywood. big gas engines get mouted to a 2x6 clamped in the vice. not going to pull this thing over. work mate can be upset with a good 120 two or 4 stroke.

Re: Engine Test Stand

The English one looks pretty well made. I like to have a pin on each side so the motor doesn't slide out like the older Tatone or whatever mounts had. The pin goes in where the rear lug hole averages out to. The older mounts often don't have room for a muffler on smaller motors.

The one from Great Britain is actually pretty good. You just have to mess around a little with the throttle cable because it conflicts with one of the Allen bolts. Not really a big deal and holds the engine safely. I just screwed it to a piece of plywood then take the workmate somewhere I can make noise. I screw it to the work mate and it's a really good time... I also bought some aluminum bar from home depot and drilled and tapped a fuel tank holder onto it and a filler valve for the ys 120. Works great.
