I have used them several time for making copies of plans and they send me the pdf of the scan to me via email at the same time I got the copy done.

Their rate is very reasonable and they do top notch work.
I would think that Fedex Kinkos or UPS Store could do that for you as well.

If you get it done as a PDF, reach out and send it to me, I will take a look and figure out how much work it would be to trace the scan and get the parts cut.

Size is the issue for me. 3 foot by 4 foot paper. I may have to cut it up.

I had a plan that was larger than that, FedEx Kinkos was able to copy it, if they can copy, they can scan. They use a large Roll Scanner - that size should not be a major problem

This is the next one I am going to build.

Based on your handle, I thought you would want an Arrow - glad you don't, as I can't find a good plan for that bird.
I lack the confidence to fly jets. And likely the skill. So far anyway.

But I do have a weak spot for “non run of the mill” planes. Current project is an RCM/ Andersen Boulton-Paul Defiant.

Re: Anybody interested in building unique models?

As an FYI Tony Nijhuis sells plans, kits or just the vacuum formed parts for a 72 inch Lancaster. Those vacuum formed parts could save a lot of work at a pretty reasonable price. Current price listed is 34 British Pounds. You'd need to email them about postage which shouldn't bee too much since they are very light in weight. I used them plus their plans to build one. http://tonynijhuisdesigns.co.uk/Lancaster72.htm

It drives me nuts that every plane you see now is an ARF or worse and RTF Foamy. I love the idea of unique birds at the field

Re: Anybody interested in building unique models?

I won’t knock ARFs, I hate assembling them but they’re a great way to get flying. If a plane type is available as an ARF I’ll get it, and save my build time for less common planes.

I am not against ARFs, nor RTFs. I do have one of each, I have logged more flights on my RTF than any other plane (because it is a park flyer and I can just go out for 30 min with my son and fly, then be home. Nitro planes are full day thing!

For me the pleasure in the hobby is about the build. I just finished up a Top Flite Gold Edition Corsair, glassed and airbrushed, it is my best result ever, I am very proud of it. I also have a TP Red Box P-40 that is glassed and ready for paint, that one will be great as well. The level of pride I will have when these fly will be unreal, although my fear of the first flight matches that!

You can't get that result from an ARF.

All of that said, you will see a Corsairs at the field a lot, some ARF some RTF, some kits like mine. Think about the reaction when a 74"Lancaster shows up! It will be great!

BTW - I know you are interested in the Lanc, I have worked out the materials needed now:

10 Sheets 3/32 Balsa 3 X 24 Inch
2 Sheets 1/4 Balsa 3 X 24 Inch
1 Sheet 1/8 Ply 12 X 24 Inch

I am connecting with my cutting guy this weekend and hope to get it cut and start the build. I will post pics in a new thread.

Re: Anybody interested in building unique models?

I cut the parts for the Lancaster and the Mosquito yesterday, they turned out better than expected!

I will be making a few refinements to the parts and it will be ready to make copies.

If you are interested in building a Lancaster it is very possible!

Looks like a good build.

I am not ready to have it produced yet but it is very possible.

Take a look and if you are still interested we can do something.

Just remember, I only doing the balsa and ply parts. I am not sure what to do about the cowl for this one, I was thinking of trying to do one from Fiberglass, but that is some work.

Let me know what you think, then we can figure next steps. Sound fair?
Sorry for the late reply, sent you a PM with my email address.
