Do you need a regulator for a DLE35RA ignition if running a LiFe pack?

Re: LiFe on ignition

If it is a 2 cell life pack then you don't need a regulator. To find out for for sure read the instructions for the engine.

Re: LiFe on ignition

You do want some way of killing the engine from the TX. Going to a low throttle doesn't necessarily work if the throttle servo is toast......it happens

Re: LiFe on ignition

Not talking LiPo. Asked about life...max7.2 for a short time...mostly 6.6!!!

Life might be a bit much on the one version if they really mean 6v max which some believe they mean

Re: LiFe on ignition

LiFe batteries don't go as high in voltage, more like a fully charged nimh and maintain 6.6v nominal over a longer period...my understanding anyways.

Re: LiFe on ignition

Here's the plan, single 2200 mAh LiFe on a 26% DLE35RA powered Edge 540. Battery will feed two switches, one for the Rx and one for the ignition box.
