3DHobbies 42" Slick
Well I found I was in need of a small 3-D aerobatic plane and gave in to the 3DH 42" slick. I have had a couple 3DH planes in the past and knew what I was looking for so it was a great choice. Found out that Lorne over at Pro RC here in Canada is bringing them in so it was a given to buy from him. WOW is all I can say as I have been doing the foamings for last few years its nice to get back to a balsa plane. Should be a quick build as most of the work is done and there is a long thread on another site with lots of good tips. What I have on hand for this is a Eflite 10/1100kv motor, Eflite 40 amp pro and 4 x Scanner RC 9314mg servos which are on par with the Hitec 65's with weight and just about the same for power. John
Photo is what it looks like out of the box and I got the orange one as I liked it better than the red one

Re: 3DHobbies 42" Slick
These are most awesome little planes ever. I have had one for 2 years now and still have to laugh when I fly it. You have had 3DHS planes so you know what they fly like and this little guy is no different.

Re: 3DHobbies 42" Slick
Well after I tried the fit of the Eflite 10 but it stuck out to far that I wouldn't be able to put a spinner on it and this plane has such clean lines it needs to have one.I relised I need to go with a different motor so I desided to go with the Omega 103g 1030kv motor as its what 3DH recommends for this plane. I also deside to go with the 3DH micro light weight servo arms to get the throws that I need to make the most of this plane. Hope to have it ready for next weekend as it will take about a week for the motor to arrive. John

Re: 3DHobbies 42" Slick
Awesome flying plane and I'm sure you will enjoy it. The Omega 103 is a great choice for power. Keep it light and you will love it. I crashed the first one and then went about building another with new items but never flew it and sold it. I am waiting for the weather to get better as I have a couple new micro planes to maiden with one being the new Eflite Viking. John

Re: 3DHobbies 42" Slick
Been flying the 51" version now for more than three years. They are a solid performer with predictable characteristics capable of any maneuver that you can throw at it. When I head out to the flying field its always one the extra models that I take with me. It never disappoints.
