Got the old spads out today! Nothing like remembering to extend antennas and tuning the glow, remembering rubber bands, or the simplicity of gas. No need to clean these birds, the dirtier the better!!!

Re: They keep going and going!!

Nice!!
I am still building spads, tried to build a Draco this past spring....going back to my own more robust and easier to build/balance/and fly combat design, sort of like a Treneffe RC Battle Axe....

Recently finished 2nd in an open combat event at our club with it and it does pretty good!

Will post up soon as I am building some more in August!

Re: They keep going and going!!

Got my 39" combat plane up yesterday. Thought it was not too windy, but was wrong. No problem and so what, It is just a SPAD. $20 at a garage sale with servos and an OS FSR. Goes real fast, comes in a bit hot for landing. Weighs a ton and a half. Didn't have time to finish my Battleaxe, too many half finished projects. I am going with a new .25 FX in it. Is that about right? I have lots of .15s to use up.
