Servo Question
Does anyone have the specs on the old Tower Hobbies System 2000 servo TS-71. It says on the servo super torque, metal gears and BB
My question is what is the torque at 4.8 volts and can I use 6 volt and what would the torque be. When I search online all I find is ones for sale. I even called Towers and they no longer have that information. Thanks in advance Paul |

Re: Servo Question
Paul, this plane originally had a 5 cell, 6 volt NiMh battery pack installed. Specs I cant find. The servo is a 2000 series, made by Hitec for Tower. The TS 70 is listed as 4.8 or 6 volt capable and that is a precursor to the 71. If it was mine I would run them on 6 volt as the servos are newer than the TS 70 series. I would use a 2 cell LiFe battery but that is a whole other discussion. If you really want to test them, hook them up to 6 volts and run them on test mode in your transmitter for a few hours.

Re: Servo Question
Running for a couple of minutes , say 4 or 5 and if they get warm , not hot, that should be fine. Did some extensive Googleing and Can't find anything on the 71's only the 70's
Even the : for sale ones ; no pictures. I am wondering if these came with a Tower radio system , way back ? There was also a Tower Pro , not sure if this was Tower Hobbies or another brand ? Interesting . Servo Database is pretty good with older discontinued brands ; and nothing. |
