Since their scam is to now use what is called DIM weight(Dimensional weight)(how that makes any sense I don't know.) They now say that a box this big weights this much, and that's that! They must assume that every box is filled with lead.

For example. I just checked with Greyhound to ship this plane 80"longx24x24 weight 20 lbs. Put that into their rate calculator and it tells me that THEY perceive it to be 297 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF!!! They are completely out of control.
Nope not a scam. Dimensional weight has been around for decades and then some. At least the 60ís or longer so that is 60 years and counting. Going to extremes to show my point; suppose your hollow box was large enough to fit on a transport flatbed but only weighted 500 lbs and nothing else could fit to maximize the amount of weight to be carried . The pound charged say from Toronto to Winnipeg was $2 dollars a pound , the revenue would be $1000 , ok ? Now the driver gets paid $500 for the trip , the fuel comes to $800 and not accounting wear and tear on the tractor and trailer ; net loss to the transport would be $300. On the other hand if they had a heavier load at 25,000 lbs , same volume, at only $1 a pound , their revenue now is $25,000 dollars with a net profit of $23,200 dollars ; they stay in business to make money .

Remember , I am just throwing numbers out there as I donít know exactly the cost of running a large truck from Toronto to Winnipeg but $1500 probably doesnít even come close as itís probably much more.
So dimensional weight has been arround for ever and ever.

Re: Byron F-16. Gear and tail servos included

Well Len if your intention is to make me feel better its not working. Might be making you feel better, but the bottom line its a total rip off as it was not this way until just a few years ago. A simple foam core wing used to cost $25 to ship just 3 years ago and now its $100 DIM might have existed but it wasn't used on the general public till just recently.
