Re: Build thread for a TopRC 89" P 51 Mustang

In the last 2 days I have been doing some fiber glassing on the fuse . I have heard rumors that is a good idea to glass the engine box and some of the formers. To save some weight after the glassing I dap off the excess epoxy with paper towel . Then I started doing some work on mounting the engine it fits nice .I re-enforce the firewall with alu brackets, witch is bolted down with the engine screws and 6/32 bolts into the side of the engine box.

Re: Build thread for a TopRC 89" P 51 Mustang

So the cowl is mounted the exhaust holes are done . The fire wall had to be cut for the muffler witch I will later glass over later . The kit comes with exhaust ports I just tray it to see what it looks like not bad. The other thing I had to make up was a servo tray for the throttle and choke servo. The kit comes with a fuel tank 800cc but I don't trust it so I will go with a dubro tank. For the ignition I will go with a PowerBox spark switch .

Re: Build thread for a TopRC 89" P 51 Mustang

Next I turned my attention to the rudder I hade to do the same thing what i did on the Zero for the hinge posts , wrap them with threat and then CA that. I like to try to keep the rudder horns and the servo arm the same distends. I fount a servo arm in my stuff I bought in Germany it is made from fiber board very tough .The servo arm is machined for the regular plastic servo arm but I made it fit for the large dubro arms it will be glued and screwed together . I am still waiting for the retracts before I will cut the holes for the pull pull wires .
