Just looked at the previous post.

It put a censor emoji in one part.... not my intention.

I was referring to different classes such as F5J F3J... etc.

Hi Cricklewood,

I tried... can’t figure out how to do it. Was doing it from my phone. Will try from my computer later.

Re: F3-RES

Hey Mike,
This has my interest up for sure.
I was wondering where the glider flying is happening these days as the glider club seems to have no online presence.
What were you thinking of for a contest schedule... I have my eyes on a kit already!

I actually don’t fly with the CRCSS club anymore. I haven’t for a LONG time now. Unfortunately they haven’t held contests for years.

I have a number of people in the area showing interest now and we also have a few privately owned fields that we can do some practicing on.

There is an introductory contest scheduled in April... also talk of some casual get togethers for some impromptu contests on Wednesdays.

Send me an email and I can get you details.... seriously trying to revive contest flying around here.

We also do a lot of slope soaring in the area too.

Re: F3-RES

Mike

I built this Yellow Jacket several years ago and love how it flies. The kit was fantastic and made for a very enjoyable build.
I use it on a hi-start as well as on a small slope about 5 minutes from my house. I regularly fly it at my power club field with no problems at all. I just run the hi-start out along the edge of the runway and launch when the power guys are either on a break or while they are up high.
As for contest flying, I'm about 2.5 hours away from any glider clubs so my contest flying is rather restricted at the moment. Not like the old days when I was a teenager and belonged to COGG north of Toronto, where we would commonly have over 30 guys at a contest!

I'm hoping to get some power pilots interested in building pure sailplanes as there has been some expressed interest from some of the members of my local club. Actually there are two of us that fly sailplanes at the power club and we are known as "the glider guys"...lol!

These F3-RES birds are a great way to get some renewed interest in soaring at the local level.

Regards,
Blake
