Yeah I'm not fond of proprietary oil with Kingtech.

Re: Kintech 45 or similar

Xicoy X45 is worth waiting for. Here’s my experiences:

-simpler install - everything except the pump and a junction board is inside the turbine including the ECU
-can buy extra install kits for the price of the pump and cables and swap the turbine between airframes - mine is 4 screws, 1 plug and 1 fuel line - takes 5 min to go from one airplane to the other - I’ve done it at the field
-the X45 is personally the most reliable starting airplane I’ve owned - I start mine with a 2 cell Li-Ion 2 cell pack using 18650 cells which is very light
- lower residual thrust so installing on smaller airframes like foamy conversions won’t want to do idle flyby’s

Re: Kintech 45 or similar

Kingtech oil is not that expensive, and service is absolutely great, and they are available on text or call pretty much 7 days a week….

You get what you pay for…..this is not a cheap hobby by any mean.

Re: Kintech 45 or similar

Roughly speaking KT oil runs about 4 times more expensive than DTE before shipping. Best price for DTE for us in Western Canada was out if Edmonton . At least, that was 4-5 years ago when I bought a container of it (19.? litres) . Apparently KT has changed their mix of Shell Telus oil plus synthetic , likely due to pricing or availability of their synthetic add in ; from what I have read and for what it’s worth.
I guess a consideration is ; do you have options on what to mix or not ? And availability ?
As Dansy said , service is also important when needed . Each user has to set their own priorities as to what is important to themselves .

Re: Kintech 45 or similar

Yes, I see that is now up to $110 usd from KT for 2 gallons (v3) with free shipping in the US . In any case , each user makes their choices .

Re: Kintech 45 or similar

The DTE lite I bought was from my home heating oil company right in the next town. I think it came to $125ish tax inc for a five gallon pail

I’m guessing you never read the Safety Data Sheet for this products…..it’s supposed to be used in a close circuit system….you can have cheap or you can have good……but never both LOL

K45g2 ran on DTE for 26 hours, service told me it looked new inside.
