Correct. As I mentioned in my post, in our case and using the material we did, we needed no additional substrate. Our "fabric" was laid down directly over the established grass field.

Not as close as they look but yes if your not aware of them you might join the tower club LOL. The runways and flight lines are clear of the towers. Landing patterns in one direction only you have to stay closer in if your one of those long aproach guys. We have 3 or 4 jet pilots fly there on a regular basis and lots of giant scale flights.
