Thanks for catching this Joe, as I hadn't rechecked FrSky's own web site. (I've corrected my post.)
It looks like Banggood still carries older ACCST stock as one of our club members recently ordered a QX7 as a backup spare a few months ago.

Therefore if you change the RF firmware you have to change/update the RX and TX's. search rcgroups.....or look at the frsky site. D8 is good D16 could have a problem.
FrSky show on their website an update for D16 as follows:

"UpdateTime Version Notes File Size Download
2020-03-24 ACCST D16 v2.1.0 1.Fixed the channel output error (uncontrolled servo movements) under certain conditions.
2.Strengthened correction and verification capability.
Note: Please update the firmware of all your radios, RF modules and receivers accordingly."
I'm not aware of anybody at our field who has taken the step to update their D16 to Ver2.1.0 or the previous "update" version. Lots of discussion here at, https://www.propwashed.com/frsky-rel...uld-I-upgrade/
From what I see, the FrSky current firmware is the final fix, though it may not even be an issue in North America.
If anybody has made this D16 update, would like to know the date / version you used and if there were any bugs to work out.

Good to know for anybody considering a new radio.
I won't be replacing my Taranis X9DP SE as I already have a good range of V8/D8 & D16 receivers that work great with my fixed wing planes.
Next step will be to program the voice scripts for "flaps up" and "flaps down".

Re: Frsky Taranis! thread

2.1.0 has been around for awhile, I fly using that and 2.1.6.

Solid as can be.

I believe you may be referring to your radio's OS firmware. It gets confusing, as FrSky use the word "firmware" when referring to the radio OS as well as the internal RF module. These "firmwares" have entirely different functions. The latest RF module firmware listed on the web site is version 2.1.0. I'm expecting most people are running the original version that came installed with their radio. See attached FrSky info for my X9D+ from their website for clarification.
The procedure for updating the RF module is more complicated and I've not gone down that road myself, as it would mean updating every D16 receiver to version 2.1.0 firmware also.

Re: Frsky Taranis! thread

Updating internal firmware is easy now
Load up the firmware in a folder on the SD card, using the system menu, locate the file in the folder, long press and select flash internal module. Easy peasy

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm one if the FRSky beta testers, I'm also involved in the X20 OS development testing.

Re: Frsky Taranis! thread

Tx for the input. I'm running firmware version 2.3.11 open-tx-X9D+ also for the OS firmware. (Update SD card was supplied from Aloft Hobbies)
Just haven't upgraded to ver. 2.1.0 for the RF firmware as it could limit my use of some off-brand D16 receivers.
Do you know if there are any more changes planned for FrSky's RF firmware or if all the users are satisfied that it's now properly sorted?

For the TX side, it's rock solid. There was a 2.1.6 for some RX's which corrected SBUS timing as it relates to the RB30 and RB40, but other than that it's solid as can be.

Hope this helps.
