Found this.. personally, I think it’s pretty cool. People deliberately crash planes in combat flights for fun, so this isn’t really any different. the description says the plane was no longer safe to fly, so couldn’t have been donated.. looks like a good way to retire a plane to me! I’m sure there will be people saying “ if it wasn’t safe to fly, why was he flying it!” Just look past that.. keep your negative comment to yourself and enjoy the video..

Re: Controversial Video..

LOL... I found it amusing, and if that's how the person wants to retire their plane, well, it's their plane, and that was their property, so have at it. They're not obligated to anyone to sell it to them or to give it away.

Re: Controversial Video..

if you look at who did the video guessing it is a promotional video for the company. Impressed with the airplane as it took the crash rather well. Very repairable. Would have have loved to be part of that crew.

Yup, very much a possibility! And yup, I've seen worse that have been repaired.

Re: Controversial Video..

In my youth, I had built a smallish biplane for free flight, with a Cox PeeWee .020, and had it trimmed to fly the nicest lazy circles climbing as the engine ran then descending after in the glide.

On the last flight it was going these nice circles as the wind slowly pushed it towards the only building in the 200 acre field... crashed into the side of the barn. End of that model.

Wish I had video back then!

Re: Controversial Video..

Thought it was done rather well. But now for my comments..... Even to someone like me, I agree that teh damage did look relatively repairable, from what one is able to see anyways. And number 2. I wonder if they left the engine attached to the barn as a memory?
