Re: Carb problems

New development--I tried to run the engine again today and it gained RPM when the choke was almost closed. I believe that means the engine is starving for fuel so when the choke is closed it sucks more fuel. I then removed the carb and installed the original carb and it too ran at a higher RPM with the choke almost closed. Therefore I assume its a problem in the engine, not the carb. It may be sucking air but from where? The rear back plate is tight-so is the head and carb neck. Does anybody have any ideas? I don t believe its the ignition because it did run at a high RPM. ???????
