Which Simulator is the best for flying a classic pattern aircraft of some sort. Thanks.

Re: Flight Sim Question

Pretty much all of the actually. Most simulators will handle this flying without difficulty.

Personally, I have used RF (I am not really into the arcade stuff) and through the editor have adjusted existing models to respond almost exactly like the model I am flying ... tweaking throws, throttles etc.

I fly using my own radio (Taranis X9d+) so even that makes for a consistent experience.

I have also tweaked the wind, gusts and other environmental issues so they mirror many of my flying conditions.

In truth, I fly only three models with any regularity. I would rather crash a PA plane in the simulator while learning an aerobatic then do it on the field.

So ... all of them will fly basic pattern planes well out-of-the-box. Having a good plane editor is just a bonus. Being able to use my radio, another bonus.

Decide what you need and enjoy it ... the snow is coming.

Re: Flight Sim Question

With Realflight you can go into knifedge software and download from the large amount of pattern planes from any era. I have several of Chip Hydes planes downloaded. I would recommend buying the Realflight 9. I prefer it to have the interlink transmitter with it , I find letting other people fly it and the fact it is always hooked up to be very beneficial compared to having your nice new transmitter hooked up and someone else banging it around. The biggest thing is to use it which I am guilty of not doing. It seems to sit for long periods of time. I am thinking of trying to do some online practicing with some friends this winter which could bring some fun back into simming.
