Nope sorry... they don't blend in water... yes the ethonal will attach to the water more so than gas.. but then the water will just settle to the bottom of the tank... with the ethonal.. defeats their purpose..

yes it will absorb moisture out of the air.. so if you are the kind to keep your tank mostly empty.. then you risk condensation in your tank and the ethonal will bond with that and settle to the bottom of your tank..

I have seen oil blended with water and I have seen tar blended with water.. but in all the years as a mechanic.. I have never seen water blended with gas or diesel..

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

Stations in Ontario must by law have a minimum of 5% ethanol mix in all pump fuels sold . interesting thing is, a car may be cleaner when it is sitting idling on the mixed fuel but seeing as the fuel is less efficient it's been shown in some studies that the mixed fuel actually produces more overall emissions due to the loss in MPG in some cars .while EPA states a 3-4% loss for a 10% mix that is with cars designed for such a mix . cars that can not compensate for such a mix will be hit harder .

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

If you read this:

https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/050535

You will see that they are NOT required to put it in EVERY grade that is sold. Only the total that is distributed by them must have an average of 5%. So hence, you see UP TO 10% on the pumps so they could do some grades at 10 and some can actually have zero.

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

I have read that . The only exception I see to the minimum mandatory of 5% is if you have a special need / aircraft /boat

I have checked every station I can find and I can't find any that advertise non mixed fuels. If you know of one let me know and I will check it out .

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

Shell Premium is still advertised on their website as Ethanol Free. Read the whole thing carefully. You will see how it gives an out so not every grade requires ethanol.

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

Could be a old posting, I looked at every pump from here to New Brunswick and back could not find one that did not say up to 10% . In all grades . I found a few pumps with no postings but after asking I was told they did indeed as per the new regulations have ethanol . To be honest I would rather have ethanol free but I have little problem with fuel that has ethanol .could be that I leave fuel in my planes when they are stored , this helps prevent the carb from drying out . I find that most carbs that are drained and left dry after running ethanol tend to need rebuilding quite often as the diaphragms turn to cardboard. not a bad Idea to run a additive in your fuel either , seafoam or stabilizer.

The fuel stations claim no ethanol see link
On my husqvarna equipment I buy the 1 liter husqvarna 50:1 pre mix.
Stihl has their own fuel too.
It's 95 octane and no ethanol.
Husqvarna extends their warranty on their engines if you use this fuel from new.
Shelf life I believe open can is 2 years and closed 5

Re: How to Remove Ethanol from Gasoline

An FYI if anybody is interested. In addition to Shell stations I had the occasion to need gas Drummonds, Bronson @ 417 in Ottawa. Pump labled Low Grade 10% Mid 5% Premium 0%.

Maybe that is indicated in the listing link a couple posts back.
